| Why did Jessica Start Fit 2 Wed?
As a personal trainer, I would always get clients who were brides or bridesmaids wanting to get in shape for a wedding. I was so floored when I got engaged 7 years ago and would attend the various local bridal shows for vendor information and discovered there was no one from the health and fitness industry at the bridal shows. I could not believe there was nobody reaching out to help these brides lose weight and get in shape the "right way" for their big day. I hear and see it all the time where brides try to wait until the last minute and end up resorting to some "quick fix" of fad diets to get them into their dress. I wanted to offer them a better way to not only look and feel drop dead gorgeous on their special day, but be able to maintain their goals after the wedding.
My wedding also created a sudden urgency for everyone to drop some extra pounds. Our parents and sisters were all trying to slim down for that one day. It was so funny because within the family weight loss competition and bets on who could shed the most weight before the wedding started taking place.
After witnessing first hand how weddings can motivate not only the bride, but all her friends and family to want to look their best; I was inspired to follow my dream and start my business "Fit 2 Wed". My goal is they ditch the quick fix, money and time wasting scams, and learn to get and stay at their goals the right way. It may initially be a girl's wedding day that inspires and motivates her to take action and make a change. But my goal is that once she starts enjoying all the immediate benefits of being healthy, she will continue to not settle for being less than the best she can be. It will be so life changing that being motivated for a one day event now becomes "Fit 2 Stay Wed". Getting married is what many little girls dream about. They dream about walking down the aisle in a white dress and being swept off their feet by the man of their dreams. It is such a joyful time in a girl's life and I love being able to share in that exciting journey with her. |
